Today I would like to tell you a little story about one of my clients. She hired me to help her increase her web presence using social media as a tool. When I took on this particular client, she already had a blog and accounts in LinkedIn, Facebook, FriendFeed, Twitter and a host of other social media sites. Profiles were written, photos were uploaded and she prett…

In the news recently I read an article of a man who posted a Tweet on Twitter about being on vacation and while he was away, his home was burglarized. The gentleman is now blaming his post for the unfortunate event.
We really do need to be careful about what we post anywhere online. When we go on vacation we take the necessary steps to ensure our homes safety, but social networking is s…

Lately, I've been getting a number of questions about how to get people to open their e-newsletters and e-blasts. Well, there are a number of things to take into consideration.
1. Use an email marketing service such as
Constant Contact. Constant Contact works diligently with all the various ISP's to make sure your e-newsletters and e-blasts end up in the recipients inbox and not in their junk/spam folder.
2. Make sure you'…

Last week, after sending out one of my weekly emails, I realized that there are so many people who haven't even begun using Social Media to network for business growth. So, for those novices out there, I've decided to give you a brief understanding of what Social Media actually is and where to begin!
First of all, Social Media is very simply any tool or site which allows interaction with its users. If you can comment on a site, interact and engage in conversation with others, or even re-arrange…

I found this article on WomenEntrepeneur.com and thought it interesting. For the most part, I agree with the author, however there are times when these ‘meaningless’ words work. What do you think? Eydie
Shun meaningless words like ‘a lot’ and ‘guarantee’ in your copy. It’ll help you out a lot–we guarantee it.

Wow… I just attended the
Entrepreneur Magazine’s Growth 2.0 Conference in Long Beach, CA with
Marilyn Peters! It was amazing on so many levels!
Robert Kiyosaki was the keynote speaker. He had a very casual, easy going way of speaking. He spoke to us as if we were his friends. I liked that approach. There was no air of superiority as many speakers seem to reflect.
There…

I didn't buy anything! As a Virtual Assistant I spend most of my days working for my clients - so today I took the time to work on my own business. I re-worked a couple of my ebooks, uploaded them onto payloadz.com and made some changes on my squeeze pages. To follow though, I wrote on my blogs, sent out some email blasts advertising my "new and improved" ebooks and even had time to make dinner and play the Wii with my granddaughter! She's 7 years old and bowls strike after strike! It's h…

Place your Holiday Gifts on Layaway, not your Business!
It’s that time of year again. The jack’ o’ lanterns and candy aisles have been replaced by turkey and tree
trimmings. But that’s not exactly what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the dilemma that affects so many businesses at this time of the year.
What is it? It’s the predicament that affects businesses during the two months between Halloween and the New Year. The one where everything that needs to be done gets pushed o…

At first glance, it seems like a regular blog. But look closer and you'll see there's something very odd about the blog's content: It's very familiar. Too familiar.
That's because you wrote it, six months ago, on your own blog. The rest of the content doesn't make sense: The same word repeated over and over again. There are ads all over the sidebar for products like Viagra and mortgage loans.
This, you realize, is a splog, and you're the victim.
"Splogs," or spam blogs, are the latest way for…

Creating strong passwords is important to secure your personal and financial property. But what makes a strong password?
To ensure you have a password which can protect your high and medium security sites, make it lengthy. Eight or more characters are suggested. With each character you add you create a stronger barrier around your sensitive materials.
Mix your password with lower case and upper case letters along with numbers. Some sites now allow you to use the space bar and other char…

Social Networking can be fun and profitable, but there some rules to follow along the way. Bill Roth: Going Green
Creating a Green Office
Think in terms of financial payback when considering and implementing your eco-friendly office.
By Bill Roth | September 18, 2008
The sustainable or green action item with the highest potential for gaining CFO acceptance is conservation. Why? Because conservation is about savings and paybacks, which CFOs can relate to their calculations of cash flows and paybacks. It makes sense to start in your office when it comes to conservation.
But even wit…
